I was a laser technician in Chicago, however, when I moved here to Nevada a couple years ago, I find out that I do need a specific license and, here I am starting all over and accomplishing it. When I started the school, it was about nine month program, but I swear I felt like it was only a couple of weeks long. I felt so accomplished. Busy, constantly hands on with your new friends, with teachers that wanted to help and it honestly flew by…I currently got a job a as a receptionist at the spot. However, I’m not going to stop there. I will be a laser technician and I’m excited.

Before I decided on going for this career. I was a bartender…but I am so dedicated on doing this for my career and being a solo esthetician and having my own business. I think the best part of Euphoria was them teaching me how to go ahead and do this on my own. I have a bunch of mentors that are there for me and they give me, basically a whole guideline on how to succeed on my own. So thank you Euphoria for giving me this opportunity and teaching me and having me learn from everyone there.

I came from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I moved out here about three years ago. I already was a special effects makeup artist up there, so I came more into the beauty side. Now I am a professional nail tech and I’m going to be doing barbering as well. My experience here at Euphoria the teachers were wonderful. I made so many friends when I first moved out here, I had nobody, but this is like a big family for me. And the teachers have taught me a lot of life lessons more than just the education that they give. They’re like really family to me.

I went to Euphoria to become a nail tech…being able to meet new people and come together with different personalities, and build a little mom group. I feel like we’re all moms and we all just came together and now we’re this little clang of friends. So that was the best…looking forward to being an independent worker and owning my own business.

I was in the esthetician program. Before this was finding my way, job hopping you know…but I have a plan to combine my esthetician work with childcare for mommies and facials and all spa days for kids. So it’s all coming together. Meeting all the girls, the staff was great. I love them…so I’m even more excited to walk this stage with my friends. So exciting.

I went straight from high school to cosmetology school ’cause I’m not a person that just waits around, so I just had to jump right into something because I know if I didn’t, I would’ve never done anything and just got a nine to five job. It’s like from one of my favorite songs and the lyrics…this time next year I’ll be living so good. And that’s just how I felt. ’cause this time next year I’ll be doing better, looking better, feeling better. So I picked cosmetology. I learned nails at school and then I just started liking it more and more. I actually got a job as a nail tech at the Wellness Spa. And it’s a nice little salon. It’s been there for 17 years. Y’all should come up there.
